Formed in spring 2021 by a small group of Porsche owners and enthusiasts from Redbourn, St. Albans, RPOC is an independent club that brings together fans of Stuttgart’s finest export from the village itself and surrounding areas.
Established against the challenging backdrop of Covid-19, informal ideas were discussed between the founder members to establish a regular meeting and driving club – something that had seemed a distant dream during lockdown conditions – with the simple aim of bringing people together to share their love of Porsche cars.
As soon as COVID-19 restrictions were lifted, the original group of village-based members hastily arranged to meet in The Cricketers of Redbourn pub to further share their thoughts and brainstorm destinations for group drives. Eventually these ideas became firm plans and we settled on trying to maintain two monthly get togethers; a social event held at the pub from 19:30 on the last Wednesday of each month and a group drive-out to indulge in the very best part of Porsche ownership – the driving!
By summer 2021 we had held our first few evening social meetings, established an active WhatsApp group and Instagram feed and attracted more than 30 members from Redbourn, Harpenden, St Albans and other local villages and towns along with a few friends from North London too. The common theme will always be the cars, and the primary aim will always be about having fun.
